Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that any attack on Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei would trigger a full-scale war. In his statement, he said Iran’s people’s hardships stem from inhumane sanctions imposed by America and its allies.
The Iranian President added that any aggression against the Supreme Leader would be tantamount to complete war against the Iranian nation.
It may be recalled that yesterday, US President Donald Trump said it’s time for new leadership in Iran. Trump’s statement came as nationwide protests demanding the government’s end appear to be weakening in Iran, while the Iranian government claims the situation is fully under control.
Yesterday, the Iranian Supreme Leader blamed Trump for the deaths and unrest in Iran. In response to the Supreme Leader’s statement, Trump said Tehran’s rulers rely on oppression and violence to govern, a precedent unseen before.
Trump had stated that leadership means respect, not fear and death—rulers should focus on properly running the country instead of killing thousands to stay in power, as he does in America. The US President further said poor leadership has made Iran the worst place to live in the world.
