Azerbaijan won’t deploy troops for Gaza peacekeeping—or any external ops—President Ilham Aliyev declared Monday in Azeri TV interviews.
Baku quizzed Trump’s US team with 20+ questions on the proposed International Stabilisation Force (ISF) force. “No participation planned,” Aliyev said. “I’m not eyeing fights beyond our borders.” (Last November, officials conditioned aid on full Israel-Hamas ceasefire.)
Muslim States’ Dilemma
Diplomats told Dawn most Muslim nations back ISF success despite reservations and backlash fears—only it can shield Gaza’s Palestinians.
“Israel killed 70,000+; clear-mandate force must halt this genocide,” one said.
Another: “ISF puts us in a tough spot—but endless bloodshed is worse, unacceptable.”
