A top Hamas official stated Friday that upcoming Miami discussions on progressing to Gaza ceasefire phase two must prioritize halting Israel’s truce violations.
US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff will meet Qatar, Egypt, and Turkiye representatives in Florida to revive momentum toward the agreement’s next stage.
Hamas political bureau member Bassem Naim said: “Our people expect these talks to yield a firm commitment to end Israeli aggression, stop all violations, and enforce the Sharm El Sheikh accord on the occupier.”
Phase two envisions Israeli troop withdrawal from Gaza, an interim authority replacing Hamas in governance, and deployment of an international stabilization force.

Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry reported Thursday that 395 Palestinians died from Israeli fire since the October 10 truce began.
Egypt, a key mediator, stressed “real pressure” is needed. Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty called for swift phase two rollout while curbing ceasefire infringements.
