Pakistan’s renowned senior ghazal and classical singer Taranum Naz has said that the sorrow of transferring her hard-earned home to her children will stay with her for life.
Recently, the legendary classical singer Taranum Naz appeared on a show where the host asked her what was the saddest moment of her life. In response, Taranum Naz shared that she bought land with her own earnings and then built her dream home with great love. The children were young at the time, so she put the house in their names, thinking it was the same whether in her name or theirs.
With a pained expression, Taranum Naz revealed that when the children grew up and got married, they started demanding their share of the house. Parents hold a different position and importance when they own their own property.
Singer Taranum Naz admitted that putting her house in her children’s names was the biggest mistake of her life, the regret of which will remain lifelong. The children are still obedient, but if the house had remained in her name, the situation would have been even better and different.
It may be noted that Taranum Naz is remembered for her powerful voice and classical PTV songs. She was a disciple of Ustaad Aashiq Hussain and bears a strong resemblance to Madam Noor Jehan. She has also been awarded the Pride of Performance.
