After showing relative restraint in his recent speech regarding Iran, U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a grave warning. He stated that threats from Tehran’s leaders to assassinate him will be met with “blowing up the entire country.”
In an interview aired on “NewsNation” Wednesday evening, the U.S. President further said, “I have given instructions that if anything happens, we will blow up the entire country.” Trump added, “I have issued very strict instructions; if something happens, they will wipe them off the face of the earth.”
According to Trump, former President Joe Biden should have “said something” about this matter. He further said, “In such matters, presidents should defend each other.”
Intelligence officials from the Biden era had briefed Trump about alleged threats to target him during the 2024 election campaign. Former Attorney General Merrick Garland had stated that this plot was made in 2020 to avenge the killing of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani at the hands of the U.S. during Trump’s first administration.
