Ireland’s Minister Helen McEntee, who also oversees immigration, trade, and defense, visited the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and Gaza on Tuesday morning.
The official visit allowed her to assess efforts to deliver humanitarian and relief supplies to Gaza residents; she also toured Egyptian Red Crescent warehouses in the northern Sinai city of Arish, praising Egypt and its volunteers for their ongoing aid provision to Gaza.
Earlier on Monday, during a press conference in Cairo with Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, McEntee described Egypt’s role in improving Gaza conditions as extremely important, urging implementation of the peace plan’s second phase and more humanitarian aid access to Gaza.
