Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates have agreed to formally sign an agreement on the “Pre-Immigration Clearance” system.
This decision was made during a meeting in Islamabad between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and a UAE delegation led by Director General of Customs and Port Security Ahmed bin Lahij Al Falasi. The new system will launch as a pilot project in the first phase from Karachi.
Discussions in the meeting covered Pakistan-UAE relations, mutual cooperation, and further simplifying immigration processes for travelers. Mohsin Naqvi stated that under this system, passengers will complete immigration and related clearances in Pakistan itself; upon arrival in the UAE, they will not need to go through lengthy procedures and can exit the airport directly like local passengers.
The UAE delegation described the initiative as beneficial for both countries’ citizens and expressed commitment to cooperation.
