A severe heatwave continues in Australia, raising the risk of wildfires in the southeastern regions.
According to news agencies, fire danger warnings have been issued across the country. Yesterday, the state of Victoria recorded its hottest day ever, reaching 48.9 degrees Celsius.
Heatwave warnings have also been issued in other states, including New South Wales, Queensland, and Tasmania.
This intense heat has further increased the risk of wildfires in Victoria, Australia’s second most populous state, where a fast-spreading forest fire in the Otways region has already burned around 10,000 hectares of land.
Authorities have ordered hundreds of residents in rural towns across Victoria to evacuate their homes.
