Washington: The United States has rejected the British Prime Minister’s criticism of President Donald Trump’s remarks on NATO.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer had strongly condemned US President Donald Trump’s statements about non-US NATO forces during the Afghanistan war, which the White House has dismissed.
In a statement from the White House, it was said that Trump is correct—America has made the greatest sacrifices for NATO and has played a greater role than all other member countries combined.
It is worth noting that on Thursday, in an interview, Trump stated that he cannot say with certainty whether NATO would stand the test in defending the US if it faced a major threat.
Trump said, “We never needed them. They will say they sent some troops to Afghanistan, and they did, but they stayed a bit back, some distance from the front line.”
