Due to violent protests and potential US attack risks in Iran, Britain has recalled its embassy staff from the country.
The British ambassador has departed Iran along with staff; the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office cited the security situation for temporarily withdrawing diplomatic personnel.
Officials warn Iran’s conditions could deteriorate rapidly, posing risks to diplomats and advising citizens against travel, noting extremely limited assistance and no consular help in emergencies amid over 2,500 deaths in inflation-sparked unrest.
