Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, who captivated audiences at Kate Middleton’s annual Christmas carol concert, will join King Charles and the rest of the royals for a major gathering at Sandringham.
While William and Catherine’s children eagerly await reuniting with their cousins, they’ll stand out as the young royals the public most anticipates seeing on Christmas Day.
The Prince and Princess of Wales, devoted and protective parents, established a strict rule to spare their three children from certain royal traditions that could cause distress, according to a former royal chef.
Royals—senior, non-working, young, or old—must adhere precisely to specific protocols. Even children are expected to master royal stair etiquette and discipline from a young age, as Darren McGrady, who served Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana, told Harper’s Bazaar.
He noted that to learn polite conversation, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis were separated from William and Kate during meals. “They had to learn very early what they can and cannot do,” he said. Until they could conduct themselves properly, they weren’t permitted to join the adults at the family’s grand dining table.
This approach aimed to protect the children from intense pressure and potential slip-ups. Their recent poise suggests they may now be ready for the big step.
