Aleema Khan has lodged an appeal at the Lahore High Court, Rawalpindi Bench, challenging her indictment in the November 26 protest case.
Submitted via her lawyer, Faisal Malik Advocate, the appeal came before a division bench of Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan and Justice Sultan Mehmood.
During initial proceedings, the court’s registrar office objected to the missing certified copy of the FIR. The bench directed Aleema Khan’s counsel to submit the required documents before the case advances.
The petition contends that Aleema Khan was indicted in absentia, which the appeal deems legally invalid. It seeks orders for the trial court to reframe charges properly, ensuring she receives a fair hearing as per legal standards.
The court told the defense to resolve the registrar’s objections. Once documentation is complete, the appeal will be listed for a full hearing.
