First Lady Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari urged girl cadets on Friday to embody discipline, respect, and resilience in all pursuits while upholding the pride of their families and nation.
Speaking as chief guest at the 5th passing-out parade and Annual Parents’ Day at Bakhtawar Cadet College for Girls in Nawabshah, she celebrated the institution as Pakistan’s pioneering girls’ cadet college, founded to foster women’s empowerment via education, discipline, and leadership.
Aseefa commended the cadets’ commitment, faculty mentorship, and Sindh government’s backing, crediting them for shaping the college into a hub for producing poised, disciplined leaders ready for global challenges.
Drawing on the legacies of icons like Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, she stressed that educating and empowering girls is vital for Pakistan’s progress.

She handed out college crests and prizes to top cadets, observed march-pasts, PT drills, gymnastics, and a karate demonstration.
Officials briefed her that the Pakistan Air Force-managed college, launched in 2017, now hosts 423 cadets from nationwide.
In the visitors’ book, Aseefa wrote: “Honoured to visit Bakhtawar Cadet College. We must appreciate President Asif Ali Zardari for his vision in creating this institute. May these bright cadets continue to succeed in all walks of life. May they serve Pakistan and make their country proud.”
Earlier, she unveiled the college’s new gymnasium and swimming pool, joined a tree-planting drive, and launched the “Art & Science Exhibition 2025-26.”
She reviewed the guard of honour, met faculty, then addressed cadets and parents.
Later, accompanied by Health Minister Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho and NA Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, she inaugurated the Sindh Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in Nawabshah.
