The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday adjourned a code of conduct violation hearing against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and Shahnaz Umar Ayub until January 13.
A five-member bench led by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja heard the case. CM Afridi’s lawyer, Ali Bukhari, filed a written reply and an application to dismiss it for non-maintainability. ECP officials noted the application lacked the chief minister’s signature, directing resubmission with proper signatures and a valid power of attorney before the next hearing.
The bench deferred proceedings to allow respondents time to fulfill these legal requirements.
