ICC Denies Accreditation to Bangladeshi Journalists for T20 World Cup Coverage
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has refused accreditation to Bangladeshi journalists for covering the T20 World Cup.
According to Bangladeshi media, no Bangladeshi journalist has been granted accreditation in either Sri Lanka or India; several journalists who had received accreditation later had it canceled.
A Bangladeshi journalist told the media that one journalist received a confirmation email for accreditation on the 20th, but later received an email rejecting the accreditation.
A senior Bangladeshi journalist stated that even if the team does not participate, the ICC usually grants accreditation to journalists from associate members.
Organizations of Bangladeshi sports journalists have decided to announce future courses of action soon, stating that they have received no explanation from the ICC regarding the denial of accreditation to journalists.
