Pakistan reaffirmed Friday its commitment to the One-China principle, viewing Taiwan as an inseparable part of China.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrab responded to media queries on Taiwan Strait tensions: “We uphold the One-China policy and see Taiwan as China’s inalienable territory.”
“Pakistan and China share an ironclad friendship and all-weather strategic partnership,” he added. “We firmly back China on core issues, including Taiwan.”
China claims the democratic island as its territory and hasn’t excluded force for reunification.
Beijing ended drills—codenamed Justice Mission 2025—late Wednesday, with rockets fired and warships/aircraft deployed around Taiwan. Its military stays on high alert, boosting readiness.
