Following Bangladesh’s exclusion from the ICC World Cup, the Pakistan Cricket Board has begun considering various options for protest. Sources indicate that Pakistan may boycott its match against India on February 15 in Colombo, resulting in only 2 points being deducted from Pakistan for not playing against India. Sources say the PCB has the option of not playing the match against India, and not playing the match against India would cause significant financial loss to the ICC. Sources stated that even if participating in the World Cup, the board will keep options open. It may be noted that in the T20 World Cup, Bangladesh refused to go to India citing security concerns and requested the ICC to shift all its matches to Sri Lanka, but the ICC did not accept the Bangladesh board’s request and included Scotland in the group in its place.
