Sialkot: Student Killed as Shed of Under-Construction Government Girls High School Classroom Collapses
In Sialkot, an eighth-grade student was killed when buried under debris after the shed of classrooms at the under-construction Government Girls High School collapsed.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz took notice of the incident, following which Punjab Education Minister Sikandar Hayat visited the school and expressed condolences to the bereaved family.
Rescue services were not informed for an hour after the incident, and the injured girl was not taken to the hospital in time.
Following the incident, the CEO Education, principal, and contractor have been arrested, and a case has been registered on behalf of the government, naming three engineers as well.
