Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan stated regarding the 26th Amendment that changes must be made according to circumstances, otherwise, you cannot compete with the world. Addressing a ceremony held in his honor, the Governor said that Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir is a reward from Allah; under his fearless leadership, Pakistan inflicted a historic defeat on India in the recent war, and the Field Marshal wishes to serve his country.
He announced that a special desk for overseas Pakistanis will be established at Governor House, with its doors always open for them. Congratulating President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Bilawal Bhutto, Maryam Nawaz, and the three armed forces chiefs on Pakistan’s enhanced global political role, he criticized PTI for manufacturing faults and ignoring respect in KP, Punjab, and Sindh.
The Governor emphasized that Pakistan does not desire war, but India always imposes it and faces defeat; Asif Zardari had offered PTI a chance in government formation, leading to PPP’s alliance with PML-N after refusal. He noted the increased prestige of the green passport post-victory, with the world now listening to Pakistan—unlike before when leaders paid for US meetings—while stressing the need to strengthen the economy instead of begging.
