Karachi: Bomb Disposal Squad confirms Soldier Bazaar residential building blast as gas leak explosion.
The Bomb Disposal Squad has declared the explosion in the Soldier Bazaar residential building a gas leak incident.
According to the BDS in-charge, the kitchen in the house had faulty gas fittings, with plastic pipes used for gas supply, which caused increased leakage due to the plastic pipes and joints.
He further explained that gas extraction machines were also installed in the building; it was reported that gas supply had been absent in the area for several days, but it suddenly resumed with high pressure last night.
According to the BDS in-charge, the explosion likely occurred due to the gas valve being left open, a short circuit, or lighting a match.
