MQM Pakistan has demanded the resignation of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, and Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon over the Gul Plaza tragedy.
The party also announced that it would not back down from its demand for the formation of a judicial commission.
MQM leader Farooq Sattar said that the party wants to make it clear to the Chief Minister, Information Minister, and Mayor Karachi that attempts to divert attention from the Gul Plaza tragedy will not succeed. He added that even if the Sindh government withdraws security from MQM leaders or files false cases against them, the party will ensure justice for the victims of the incident.
MQM has decided to raise a strong voice for the rights of the Gul Plaza victims. During a party meeting, members discussed launching protests, raising the issue in assemblies, and pursuing legal action.
