Pakistan’s Foreign Office dismissed Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar’s recent statements as “irresponsible assertions” on Saturday.
The FO statement accused New Delhi of diverting attention from its role in promoting terrorism and destabilizing the region, following Indian media reports of Jaishankar defending India’s right to counter “bad neighbours.”
Strong Rebuttal to Indian Allegations
“Pakistan firmly rejects these claims,” the FO said. “India’s documented support for terrorism in Pakistan—exemplified by Commander Kulbhushan Jadhav’s case—remains undeniable, alongside proxy sabotage, extraterritorial killings, and backing for extremist networks tied to Hindutva ideology.”
The response came days after Jaishankar met National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq at Bangladesh’s parliament during a condolence event for late PM Khaleda Zia, where he shook hands and acknowledged recognizing the speaker.
Kashmir and Indus Waters Treaty
Pakistan reaffirmed its unwavering support for Kashmiris’ self-determination under UN resolutions, condemning India’s “illegal occupation” of Jammu and Kashmir.
On the Indus Waters Treaty, the FO warned that any Indian violation would erode regional stability and India’s global credibility, vowing to protect Pakistan’s water rights.
