Direct flights between Pakistan and Bangladesh will soon resume, with the federal government approving operations for the national carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines on the Dhaka-Karachi route, sources told Geo News Friday.
Warming ties have enabled this move, sparing travelers current layovers in Dubai or Doha.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), following federal clearance, granted approval via its Director General. Biman can fly until March 30, 2026, and use Pakistani airspace on set routes.
CAA sources specified strict adherence to designated paths, with full flight details shared with Karachi authorities pre-departure from Dhaka.
Services could start later this month.
Bangladesh High Commissioner to Pakistan Iqbal Hussain Khan confirmed to The News at the Foreign Services Academy: “We’re launching direct flights—three weekly to Karachi by our national airline.”
